Learn traditional Sri Lankan cooking methods with a class involving the preparation of coconut sambol, dahl and other popular curries. The classes are normally for small groups only and you finish with a lunch or dinner of what you make.
There are two popular places in town, both on the main road, where you can reserve your class; Ecowave Travels and Danny’s Soul Kitchen (previously known as Danny’s Sri Lankan Delicacies).
If you want the best deal then just ask any restaurant or guesthouse where you like the food. They will normally arrange it for you for a small price. A lot of places will even do it for free and just charge you for lunch. Be warned though, you may not want to see the kitchen where you eat!
